What “Confused” Really Means to Me!

My spirits were really low when I wrote the song, but now I feel a little lighter because I’m not the only one “Confused!”

I’ve got to be real with you. “Confused” isn’t just a song for me; it’s a piece of my heart that I have laid bare and vulnerable. I’ve been in a rough spot, feeling like everything I knew was falling apart. If you’ve ever felt lost and broken, you might understand where I’m coming from.

I messed up. No excuses. When it comes to loving someone, anyone, partner, family, friend things aren’t always straightforward. I made mistakes, and yes, I own up to them. But love is about more than just getting it right or wrong. Life might have two sides, Love Doesn’t!!

Love has 10 faces, 100 emotions and 1000 perceptions.

Confusing isn’t it?

It’s about learning and growing together, even when things get messy. We all have moments when we want our partner to think just like us, and that’s when we go astray.

The song came out of a really tough time for me. After a big fight, when everything felt unresolved, I kept replaying every word and mistake, trying to reach out, but it felt like I was talking to a wall. My calls went unanswered, and I was all alone with nothing but regret and coldness. That’s when “Confused” began to take shape in my mind.

The beats of the song are meant to capture that restless feeling. They’re smooth but also uneasy, reflecting the chaos inside my head. I wanted the rhythm to feel like moving through pain, like dancing through confusion. The Afrobeat shaped its vibe, a feeling that is both comforting and unsettling, just like how I felt.

Writing the lyrics was my way of expressing my rawest of the raw form of emotions. Each line is about having that hollow pit in your guts which constantly wants to make things right. It’s me saying, “I’m sorry, I feel lost without you, and I don’t know how to fix this.” The song reflects the confusion and heartache when everything feels out of control.

“Confused” is for anyone who’s felt like their world is falling apart. It’s a reminder that confusion and pain are real, and we all go through them.
